Travel Guide Book

I love the way any criticism of this book and yet there are 5 stars. Yes, the cards do not show the great rivers that were often the tribal boundaries, and many important sites are not already shown on the map at all - so it is not possible with the Atlas plan for your holiday!

I note that the historical accuracy wise quibble from time to time, but for me, the ordinary punter, the book is simply breathtaking. First, the scope includes a mere 40,000 years, especiallyEurope and Middle East history. From the Stone Age to Byzantium. Secondly, you get a quick and complete overview of all those people, you should try again, but not the Medes, the Cimmarians, Ostrogoths and hundreds of others. Third, and military history and politics, creating the world today, only a few pounds you get a history of population development, a history of trade and the history of the birth and spread of language and literacy help.Wow!

On top of all the book is written in a fun style and self-devaluation and explains carefully where the evidence is contradictory or simply not available. The book is also updated to include some DNA evidence and no doubt there will be a lot more in future issues.

So 5 stars and more.
